U-15 Boys Inter Cluster Cricket Tournament

Shillong, April 23: Sohra Cluster (A), (B) registered victories on Day 3 of the Benjamin Diengdoh Memorial U-15 Boys Inter Cluster Cricket Tournament 2024 on Tuesday.
In the first match, opting to bat first after winning the toss, Mawryngkneng Cluster posted a below par total of 81/9 in their allotted 20 overs. Hamebandap War displayed notable resilience with a top score of 24 runs from 23 deliveries. However, Riquel Nongbri’s remarkable bowling performance, claiming 4 wickets for 15 runs in 5 overs, restricted Mawryngkneng’s momentum.
In response, Sohra Cluster (B) chased down the target comfortably, reaching 83/2 in just 10.4 overs. Dameshwa Khongsngi showcased his batting prowess, contributing a commendable 57 runs off 34 balls. Damewanbiang Shadap managed to take 1 wicket for 19 runs in 4 overs for Mawryngkneng Cluster. The match concluded with Sohra Cluster (B) securing victory by 8 wickets, with Dameshwa Khongsngi named the Man of the Match for his stellar batting performance.
In the second match of the tournament, Sohra Cluster (A) faced off against Laitjem Cluster.
Sohra Cluster (A) won the toss and elected to bat, setting a formidable target of 155/6 in their stipulated 20 overs. Sumit Rai led the charge with an impressive 63 runs off 29 deliveries, supported by Bashai Kupar Nongdhar who contributed 34 runs from 31 balls. Melamjingshai Kurbah’s bowling effort stood out as he claimed 3 wickets for 30 runs in 4 overs for Laitjem Cluster.
In their chase, Laitjem Cluster struggled against Sohra Cluster (A)’s bowling attack, managing to score only 56 runs before being bowled out in 12.2 overs. Melamjingshai Kurbah was the top scorer for Laitjem Cluster with 23 runs off 18 balls. Othaniel Lyngdoh Nongbri excelled with the ball, taking an impressive 5 wickets for 19 runs in 3 overs. Sohra Cluster (A) clinched victory by a significant margin of 99 runs, with Othaniel Lyngdoh Nongbri being awarded the Man of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.
