Natl Deworming Day launched across state

SHILLONG, April 24: The Directorate of Health Services (MCH&FW), Meghalaya, in collaboration with the office of the District Medical and Health Officer, East Khasi Hills, on Wednesday organised a programme for the state launch of National Deworming Day at Tirot Sing Memorial Hr. Secondary School, Mawkdok, under Sohra Civil Sub Division.
The objective of National Deworming Day is to deworm all preschool and school-age children between the ages of 1-19 years through the platform of schools and Anganwadi centres in order to improve their overall health, nutritional status, access to education and quality of life.
Joint Director of Health Services (MCH&FW)-cum-SNO Child Health, Dr B Mawlong, attended the programme as the chief guest.
