Sangam Kayang makes history as 1st nat’l referee from Arunachal

Itanagar, April 24: Football enthusiasts across Arunachal Pradesh are rejoicing as Sangam Kayang etches his name in the annals of state football history, becoming the first-ever National football referee from the region.
Hailing from Seppa in the East Kameng District, Kayang’s journey to this groundbreaking achievement culminated with his successful completion of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) Level-5 referee examination.
The rigorous examination, conducted on April 15 and 17, 2024, yielded favorable results for Kayang, with the official announcement made on April 23.
The examination, held at the esteemed Laxmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) in Gwalior, signifies a significant milestone in both Kayang’s career and the state’s football landscape.
The Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Chowna Mein, took to social media platform Twitter to extend his heartfelt congratulations to Kayang.
In his message, Mein lauded Kayang’s dedication and perseverance, emphasizing the journey that commenced from his hometown of Seppa in the East Kameng District.
Kayang’s successful completion of the AIFF Level-5 referee exam at LNIPE, Gwalior, serves as a testament to his unwavering passion and unwavering commitment to the sport.
This momentous accomplishment not only represents a personal triumph for Kayang but also stands as a proud milestone for Arunachal Pradesh.
