Shillong, April 26: In an intense battle between STCC Pongtung Lioness and Mawsynram Pink Panthers in the U-17 Girls Inter Cluster Cricket Tournament 2024, Pongtung Lioness emerged victorious over Pongtung Lioness by 29 runs.
The match unfolded with great anticipation as the Mawsynram Pink Panthers won the toss and elected to field first. STCC Pongtung Lioness seized the opportunity, putting up a commendable total of 174/4 in their allotted 20 overs. Dawanshisha Warlarpih emerged as the star performer, showcasing her batting prowess with a commanding 89 runs off 74 deliveries. Meanwhile, Wanriphylla Marbañiang contributed with a notable bowling spell, claiming 1 wicket for 17 runs in 2 overs.
In response, the Mawsynram Pink Panthers put up a valiant effort but fell short of the target, managing to score 145/10 in 16.2 overs. Eliza Lyngdoh led the charge with a resilient knock of 42 runs off 49 balls.
