TURA, April 27: After pictures and videos of littering at the famous ‘Wari Chora’ in South Garo Hills went into circulation on social media recently, the Chokpot regional unit of the Garo Students’ Union (GSU) has urged visitors to the tourist spot to refrain from doing so.
“This place is famous for its beauty and tourists not only from the country but also from abroad come to visit it. We request all visitors to take care of their own waste so that the place remains pristine and clean as it was before,” the union said. The union also urged the local people to take steps to maintain cleanliness at other tourist spots like Re’dingsni wari, Imilsang dare, Abong Chigat, Tengte Rongrep, Patijora, Bandare, Rangtang wari, Warima wari, Rekman dare, Gadak Nawepile dare, Asim dare, Dombe wari, Renang Dare and Tepota dare in order to attract more tourists to the district.
