Event lays focus on artistic expression, mental wellness

SHILLONG, April 28: The Department of Psychology and Wellbeing, in collaboration with St. Xavier’s College, Umoid, and the District Mental Health Programme, South West Khasi Hills, on Friday organised the ‘Beautiful Mind’ event, an event that laid focus on mental wellness and artistic expression.
According to a statement, the programme was attended by the students, teacher as well as the principal of St. Xavier’s College.
During the programme, Head of the Psychology and Wellbeing Department, MLCU, Dr. Porsara M. Kharbhih,  and well-known clinical psychologist from Mawkyrwat, Alcydalyne Lyngkhei, outlined the significance of mental health awareness.
Some of the highlights of the programme include performance of songs and dances, interactive session filled with engaging games, open-mic sessions, art therapy, mind games, psychological testing, et al.
