GH para-vets feted on World Veterinary Day

SHILLONG, April 28: A total of five para-veterinarians from the region of Garo Hills were on Saturday felicitated in recognition of their services during a programme in Tura to commemorate World Veterinary Day.
According to a statement here, the programme, thematised on ‘Veterinarians are Essential Health Workers’, was attended by West Garo Hills Deputy Commissioner Jagdish Chelani.
In his address, the DC highlighted the crucial role of veterinarians in supporting farmers in rural areas, who rear livestock to sustain their livelihoods.
He urged the veterinarians to be sincere in their duties and always be present at their stations while discharging their responsibilities.
On the occasion, retired officials of the Animal Husbandry & Veterinary department were also felicitated in recognition of their services.
