Meghalaya NCC cadet clinches gold medal in shooting

Shillong, April 28: Dawanpynshai Marwein, a senior NCC cadet from St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, representing the 2 Meghalaya Battalion NCC/Shillong Group, has brought laurels to the state with a remarkable victory in sports shooting.
Competing in the Sports Shooting competition organized by the NER NCC Directorate at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium, Guwahati, from April 18-26, 2024, Marwein demonstrated exceptional skill and determination, clinching the coveted cold medal in the 3P (Three Positions) category.
The transition from Shillong’s moderate climate to the intense heat of Guwahati posed a formidable challenge for Marwein and his teammates. However, his unwavering resilience and dedication enabled him to adapt to the adverse conditions, showcasing mental fortitude and physical endurance that ultimately led to securing the gold medal.Acknowledging the pivotal role played by the NCC instructor staff of 2 Meghalaya Battalion, Marwein attributes his success to their guidance, meticulous training, and unwavering support.
