SHILLONG, April 30: More than 1,400 dancers participated in this year’s Shad Lyngdoh Shad Suk Mynsiem of the Raid Mawlam under Hima Khyrim Syiemship Ri-War Mihngi, East Khasi Hills, held on April 27.
The participation of the dancers witnessed in the Shad Lyngdoh Shad Suk Mynsiem was bigger compared to the Shad Suk Mynsiem of the Seng Khasi Kmie which was held at Weiking ground earlier this month.
Sordar of Raid Mawlam, Mani Mawpat, said that they organise the festival in March or April every year.
According to him, the festival is a part of old traditions and rituals of the indigenous beliefs which were passed on to them by their forefathers.
