Local English daily vehicle attacked

NONGPOH, April 30: In a disturbing incident this morning, a vehicle transporting newspapers for the Meghalaya Guardian came under attack on National Highway 6 at Umling while en route to Shillong.
The assault occurred at approximately 5 am, when a group of four individuals targeted the vehicle, assaulting its driver and robbing him of his mobile phone and cash. Fortunately, the assailants did not inflict damage on the vehicle itself.
The targeted vehicle, identified by registration number AS01 JC9434, was driven by Biren Boro and is responsible for the daily distribution of Meghalaya Guardian newspapers from Guwahati to Shillong.
Following the attack, the perpetrators fled the scene with the stolen items, leaving Boro injured.
He promptly reported the incident to the Nongpoh Police Station and underwent a medical examination for his minor injuries.
An FIR has been filed with Nongpoh Police Station, and law enforcement authorities are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the culprits responsible for this crime.
