NSS Festival peaks on 3rd day

SHILLONG, May 1: Reaching its third day, the North East NSS Festival 2024 reached its peak at Jaintia Eastern College in Khliehriat, East Jaintia Hills, with an engaging programme centered around ‘Yuva Samvad’, which stands for, “For the youth, by the youth, of the youth.”
Redesigned to correspond with the Panch Prans (five resolves) envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the ‘Yuva Samvad@2047’ intervention aims to ignite constructive dialogue regarding India’s future, reflecting aspirations for a developed and resurgent nation by 2047.
The day began with an extempore speech competition, showcasing students’ oratory and critical thinking skills. A welcome speech by Assistant Professor B Papang emphasised youth involvement in shaping the country’s destiny, setting the stage for an insightful discussion.
As the chief guest, Deputy Commissioner of East Jaintia Hills Abhilash Baranwal shared personal anecdotes and encouraged the youth to pursue their dreams with determination, inspiring them with his journey.
The award ceremony, graced by the DC, celebrated the winners’ achievements, motivating them to strive for excellence in the future. Assistant Professor B Dkhar concluded the event with heartfelt gratitude, underscoring the importance of collaboration for positive social change.
The North East NSS Festival 2024, through its Yuva Samvad programme, laid special emphasis on youth empowerment and national progress, fostering dialogue, inspiration, and recognition to shape a brighter, more inclusive future for India.
