EKH DC seeks nominations from people for awards

SHILLONG, April 2: East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner SC Sadhu has asked people from the district to send their nominations to the Office of the East Khasi Hills Deputy Commissioner if they desire their names to be recommended to the government for the Jeevan Raksha Padak Series of Award, 2024.
According to a statement here, the awards recognise the meritorious acts of humane nature in saving the life of a person in incidents such as drowning, accidents, fire incidents, electrocution, landslides, animal attack and rescue operation in mines, etc.
Instituted by the Ministry of Home Affairs, the awards are given in three categories, viz. Sarvottam Jeevan Raksha Padak, Uttam Jeevan Raksha Padak and Jeevan Raksha Padak.
It may be mentioned that the deadline for the receipt of nominations is on or before June 3.
“Detailed information may be downloaded from the district website http://eastkhasihills.gov.in,” the statement said.
