LiDAR survey at Umroi Airport

SHILLONG, May 6: The LiDAR or Light Detection and Ranging survey will commence at the Shillong Airport from Wednesday.
When the matter was taken up for hearing recently in the High Court of Meghalaya, the counsel appearing on behalf of the Airports Authority of India submitted that the LiDAR survey will commence from May 8.
The Amicus Curiae appearing for the petitioner submitted that the inspection has been completed at Ladakh and Port Blair airports between 10.04.2014 and 17.04.2024.
A detailed report shall be submitted after inspecting the Paro Airport in Bhutan.
The Amicus Curiae further submitted that a composite report will aid the high court in coming to a definite conclusion on the issue of expansion of the Shillong Airport in Umroi.
