SHILLONG, May 11: The condition of the Mawtawar-Umroi Airport road, currently serving as an alternative route, is seen deteriorating, owing to increased traffic and recent heavy downpour.
Some videos have surfaced online, showing that the small road, which is now heavily trafficked, has developed potholes and is now worsening.
The existing Shillong-Umiam road, which often experiences frequent and extended traffic jams due to ongoing retrofitting work, is expected to be completed by June this year.
