SHILLONG, May 11: With many parts of India bearing the brunt of heatwave, a group of Meghalaya Police personnel are discharging 2024 Lok Sabha election duty in other states, whilst enduring the extreme climatic conditions.
As per an order from the Ministry of Home Affairs, 12 companies of forces from the state are currently on duty for the ongoing Lok Sabha election in Madhya Pradesh.
The companies are being welcomed and garlanded by the Madhya Pradesh Police at various deployment locations, where they are also conducting marches in addition to their general duties to instill confidence among the electorates.
Following their election duty in Madhya Pradesh, the 12 companies will proceed to New Delhi.
This marks the first instance of Meghalaya sending 12 of its forces for Lok Sabha election duty, with people outside heaping praise on the discipline and approach of the forces.
