In view of strong wind and heavy rainfall, the Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), East Khasi Hills, in a statement issued here on Thursday, has advised the people to stay away from tall structures and towers as they may collapse. People residing near the tall towers are to be extra cautious during rainfall and strong winds and are to keep necessary documents ready in case of evacuation, the statement added.
