SHILLONG, June 2: In a commendable act of service and dedication to humanity, the Seema Praharis of the 1st Battalion BSF Meghalaya rescued two locals who were injured in a road accident near the bordering village of Illatoli in South Garo Hills. The BSF personnel immediately administered first aid to the injured individuals.
They were then safely evacuated to the district hospital in Baghmara using a BSF ambulance.
Meanwhile, the BSF, on Saturday, apprehended drug peddlers and confiscated 2,469 Yaba tablets and 10 grams of heroin from their possession.
The apprehended drug peddlers, travelling in a car, were intercepted by the BSF team while they were heading towards the bordering area near Ranikor.
They revealed their identities as Joydeep Paul and Nabajit Sen, residents of East Khasi Hills. The seized Yaba tablets, heroin and the arrested drug peddlers were handed over to Ranikor PS for further legal action.
