SHILLONG, June 5: Outgoing Lok Sabha member from Shillong and MPCC president, Vincent H Pala on Wednesday blamed the All India Congress Committee for his defeat in the seat he had held for 15 years since 2009.
“We did not get the support and resources this time from the AICC as expected,” Pala said, explaining the main factor behind his defeat to the VPP by a record margin of over 3.7 lakh votes.
“In Garo Hills, we managed to organise the party better. Our victory in the Tura seat is more important since it will send a strong message that the party still has a strong base in Garo Hills. Now we can reconsolidate the party in the state,” Pala added.
