SHILLONG, June 6: The High Court of Meghalaya on Thursday said that the interim relief granted to former Meghalaya Director General of Police Lajja Ram Bishnoi against whom an FIR has been filed for alleged tampering and misuse of a vehicle registration number plate will continue till further orders.
Philemon Nongbri, counsel for the respondent, entered appearance on behalf of Bishnoi and submitted that an affidavit in response to the criminal petition will be filed by the respondent to bring on record certain documents and facts which may be necessary for proper adjudication of the matter.
The counsel prayed for grant of some time for filing the response after which the court listed the matter after two weeks.
“The interim order passed earlier shall continue until further orders,” the court said in its order.
