SHILLONG, June 7: In a bid to enhance healthcare facilities for the people, a large number of advanced machines and equipment were inaugurated at Khliehriat Civil Hospital on Friday.
The inaugural programme was attended by Cabinet Minister and local MLA, Kyrmen Shylla, along with Sutnga-Saipung MLA, Santa Mary Shylla.
With the inauguration, the hospital has been upgraded with new 11 advanced machines, modernising its laboratory to be on par with any other hospital in Meghalaya.
These machines, funded by the Khliehriat Civil Hospital itself, enable the facility to conduct over 142 different tests.
In addition, a Digital X-ray machine, one of the most advanced machines in Meghalaya, was procured through the initiative of the District Administration under the CSR of HDFC Foundation.
The hospital also acquired a modern Video Endoscopy System with advanced imaging abilities through the same CSR initiative by the HDFC Foundation. This system will greatly improve ENT care.
Further boosting its services, the hospital now has a new ambulance, funded through the District Mineral Foundation (DMF) by the district administration. This ambulance will facilitate referral services to Shillong and Guwahati, expanding the hospital’s reach beyond Jowai, which was not the case earlier.
A mechanised washer extractor, which was also procured by District Administration under the NETC CSR initiative, will further enable the hospital to vastly improve infection control.
