SHILLONG, June 9: BJP workers of the 19-South Shillong under the leadership of its party legislature Sanbor Shullai celebrated the swearing-in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the 3rd term, on Sunday.
The legislator thanked the electorates of his constituency who voted in favour of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA).
Calling them far-sighted and visionary, Shullai said that even after 52 years of statehood our political ambitions are still not justified. We should be mature when it comes to making political decisions and if it especially involves our future generation. We shouldn’t stall our development for vote bank politics.
‘Prime Minister Narendra Modi in his speech clearly stated that out of the 10 tribal-dominated states including Christian majority states, the majority of them are ruled by the NDA. Local issues should not be deterred by religious sentiments,’ Shullai said.
Pointing out that even after many fake and purported videos that had nothing to do with our state dominated the issue and were widely spread to create mistrust during the elections, Shullai asserted that the electorates of South Shillong have proven once again they are aligned with the pro-development movement.
Meanwhile, Shullai congratulated BJP ‘karyakartas’ across the country for giving a strong fight against the opposition.
He extended his well wishes to both the elected MPs from Meghalaya and hopes that they meet the aspirations of the state and its people.
Shullai firmly believes that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be able to live up to the expectations of the nation and ensure that all communities, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, and gender will be taken care of by the Modi government, the statement concluded.
