HC gives six weeks to settle relocation matter

SHILLONG, June 13: The High Court of Meghalaya has allowed six weeks’ time to the Harijan Panchayat Committee and the government’s high level committee and others to resolve the matter of relocation.
During the hearing on Friday, counsels appearing for both parties jointly submitted that talks for the relocation is going on between the concerned parties for which some time may be allowed since if any positive settlement emerge, this matter would eventually be rendered infructuous.
The counsels prayed for six weeks’ time which was allowed by the court.
