BSF makes seizures worth Rs 77 lakh

SHILLONG, June 15: BSF Meghalaya personnel on Friday confiscated huge quantities of medicines and mobile phone displays worth more than Rs 73 lakh, which were meant to be reportedly smuggled to Bangladesh from the international border in East Khasi Hills.
According to a statement here, the BSF troops, upon observing suspicious movements near the Khasimara riverbank, conducted a search only to discern large quantities of medicines and mobile displays packed in cartons.
The seized items were then handed over to the customs office for further action.
