Expedite salary release: VPP to JHADC

JOWAI, June 18: The Voice of the People Party (VPP), led by its organising secretary Dawanhi Rymbai, and president of VPP Narpuh Circle, Weiwi Tongper, met the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Jaintia Hills Autonomous District Council (JHADC) on Tuesday, urging the Council to expedite the release of employees’ salaries, which have been pending for the last 13 months.
Rymbai emphasised the urgency of releasing all pending salaries by June 30 or before the Behdeinkhlam festival. He insisted that the JHADC clear the 13 months of overdue salaries rather than just 1 or 2 months.
Rymbai also warned that if the JHADC fails to clear the salaries, the VPP would seek alternative measures to address the issue.
