Govt effects bureaucratic rejig

SHILLONG, June 18: The Meghalaya government on Wednesday announced a minor bureaucratic reshuffle.
Senior IAS officer Ram Kumar S has been relieved of his functions as the Director of Programme Implementation and Evaluation with effect from the date of handing over the charge. He continues to be the Director of the Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute apart from his assignment as the Secretary in the Health and Family Welfare and Programme Implementation and Evaluation departments.
Senior IAS officer and Secretary in the Education, Personnel, and AR departments, Ambrose Ch Marak has been relieved of his functions as the Director of Higher and Technical Education with effect from the date of handing over the charge.
Senior officer VR Syiem, the Secretary in the Border Areas Development and Secretariat Administration departments, has been relieved as the Director of Border Areas Development with effect from the date of handing over the charge.  MCS officer Ronnieson Wahlang, the Deputy Secretary in the Forests and Environment Department, has been transferred and posted as the Additional Deputy Director of the East Khasi Hills district with effect from the date of taking over charge and until further orders.
MCS officer Mannaliza Lakiang, the Deputy Secretary in the Revenue and Disaster Management Department has been transferred and posted as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the East Khasi Hills district.
MCS officer Shanborlang Warjri, the Deputy Secretary in the General Administration Department, has also been transferred and posted as the ADC of the East Khasi Hills district.
MCS officer Florina Boro, the Additional Residential Commissioner of the Meghalaya House in New Delhi, has been transferred and posted as the Additional Deputy Commissioner of the North Garo Hills district at Resubelpara.
MCS officer Hazel DB Sangma has been relieved of her functions as the Joint Secretary in the Home (Political) and Home (Police) Departments and given charge as the Director of Higher and Technical Education. She will continue as the General Administration Department’s Joint Secretary, Inspector General of Registration, and Superintendent of Stamps.
MCS officer Levenstone Ch Marak, the Joint Secretary in the Housing Department, has been given an additional responsibility as the Director of Border Areas Development.
Zenithsky J Sangma has been posted as the Inspector General of Prisons while continuing to serve as the Joint Secretary in the Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs and Labour departments.
MCS officer Doreena Phawa, the Meghalaya State Information Commission Secretary and Joint Secretary in the Home (Police) and Home (Political) departments shall also function as the Director of Programme Implementation and Evaluation, a notification said.
