Workshop on child training, upbringing

SHILLONG, June 22: A workshop on effective methods for raising and training children was on Friday organised by the Indian Council of Social Welfare (ICSW), Meghalaya Chapter, in collaboration with Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU) at Creche premises in Lachumiere.
A total of 34 Anganwadi workers and Creche staff were part of the workshop, which was presided over by ICSW Meghalaya president Prof. Streamlet Dkhar.
The workshop was conducted by Dr. Marbabiang Syiemlieh and Dr. Ibasaralyne Thabah, both associate professors at MLCU’s Department of Social Work.
During the programme, Director of Bansara Eye Centre, Laitumkhrah, Dr. Jenniefer V. Basaiawmoit, emphasised the importance of childcare and the need to limit children’s use of mobile phones.
On the occasion, certificates were distributed among the participants.
