SHILLONG, June 23: The Voice of the People Party (VPP) on Sunday lambasted the MDA Government for the recurring collapse of infrastructure and pathetic condition of the roads in the state. The party said governance in Meghalaya has gone for a toss and confirms the people’s perception about the MDA being riddled with corruption.
VPP spokesperson, Batskhem Myrboh said the poor quality of construction work has put a big question mark on the intention of the MDA Government.
He stated that these incidents stand as testimonies and confirm the people’s perception about the MDA being corrupt. “Those at the helm of affairs try to defend themselves by daring the Opposition and those questioning it to prove the corruption charges, yet it cannot be denied that corruption is quite refined and done so professionally that proving them is not an easy task.”
“It is quite a challenge for ordinary people to fight against the might of the state to establish their corrupt practices, yet people experience it daily with terrible consequences. But the people who suffer from corruption have the power of the ballot to make those who are responsible pay,” he added.
He said if the MDA continue their anti-people policies and actions, a time will come when they will simply vanish into thin air.
