SHILLONG, June 27: Calling on Power Minister Abu Taher Mondal on Wednesday, Titosstarwell Chyne, Sohra UDP MDC asked the former to address the ongoing issues of non-functional and irregular power supply affecting the Sohra and Riwar areas.
In a petition, Chyne highlighted that he received a report from the “Khlich Nongsynshar Shnong” of Sohra and Riwar areas detailing the severe impact of the unreliable power supply on daily activities, particularly during peak working hours. The report emphasised the hardships faced by residents, especially students, health centers, and tourists.
Chyne noted that some villages have yet to receive the requested transformers, further exacerbating the problem.
As the Leader of the Opposition in the KHADC, he urged the Power minister to promptly resolve the issue for the benefit and safety of the community.
