Union ministers to visit state soon: Hek

New Delhi, June 27: Several Union ministers who have taken charge recently will visit Meghalaya soon, Cabinet Minister Alexander L Hek said here on Thursday.
Hek had meetings with Union Minister for Animal Husbandry, Veterinary & Agriculture, Shivraj Singh Chouhan. He also separately met Minister of State, Bhagirath Choudhury.
Hek also met Minister for Fisheries and Panchayati Raj, Rajiv Ranjan Singh and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs and Minority Affairs, Kiren Rijiju.
“All of them assured to visit the state soon,” Hek said.
During his meetings with the ministers for Animal Husbandry and Fisheries, Hek reminded them how the two key sectors need urgent attention in the hill state, especially for the poor. The state has ample scope to expand these sectors for livelihood of thousands of people especially in rural areas, he said.
