SHILLONG/TURA, June 28: The Meghalaya Board of School Education has announced changes to the list of HSSLC toppers following a revaluation of the papers.
In the Commerce stream, St. Anthony’s Hr. Sec School, Shillong, produced another rankholder after its student, Mounita Roy, secured the 10th rank after the revaluation. She also secured 100 marks in Business Studies.
In the Science stream, Arghadeep Ghosh, a student of Don Bosco College, Tura, secured 9th rank following the reassessment of his papers. His father, however, expressed his surprise at the marks scored by Arghadeep, prior to the revaluation, as the latter had secured 2nd rank in the SSLC results back in 2022.
Stating that the family was happy with the new notification, Arindam Ghosh, Arghadeep’s father and Assistant Professor at Don Bosco College, said, “We were shocked when we found that Arghadeep did not get the marks that he believed he should have got in the HSSLC exams. He had always stood first in English in his college, and was shocked when he only got 76 in English.”
Upon reassessment, Arghadeep’s marks were upgraded to 80 in English while his Computer Science marks went from 86 to 89. The additional seven marks pushed his overall percentage to 91.2%, thereby making him the 9th rankholder in the HSSLC Science examination.
It is pertinent to note that the MBoSE provides the facility of revaluation for students who are dissatisfied with their marks obtained.
