SGH farmers benefit from KVK’s Kharif campaign

BAGHMARA, June 29: A total of 40 farmers from seven villages in South Garo Hills benefitted from a Kharif campaign, which was conducted by the CAU-KVK in Dagalgopgre village under Chokpot C&RD on Friday.
Dr. Athokpam Haribhushan, Principal Scientist & Head, KVK SGH, appealed to the farmers for intensive cultivation during the Kharif season for food and nutritional security.
Rike Chelchak A Sangma, SMS (Agronomy) and Dr Tanya R Marak, SMS (Plant Protection) delivered lectures on organic packages of practices of paddy, millets, maize, etc., as well as plant protection measures for Kharif crops respectively.
Semi-aromatic paddy, aromatic paddy, BHP-resistant paddy, foxtail millets, barnyard millets and composite maize seeds were distributed among the farmers who were part of the programme.
