Shillong, July 5: The Shillong Sports Association’s U-20 Fourth Division 2024 witnessed commanding performances from Thynroit SC, Madanrting SC, and Golflink SC on a competitive Friday at Polo Grounds.
In the first match of the day at First Ground, Thynroit SC showcased their offensive prowess with a resounding 6-0 victory over Lumpyngngad SC. Arphrangstone Warlarpih was the standout performer, netting a hat-trick with goals in the 23rd, 48th, and 70th minutes. Albestar Kharbikhiew added to the tally with a strike in the 37th minute, followed by Cleofast Kshiar in the 42nd and Charles Nongrum in the 58th, sealing a comprehensive win for Thynroit.
The second match at First Ground saw Madanrting SC overpower Mawreng SC with a 6-1 scoreline. Bankyrshan Ryndong emerged as the hat-trick hero, scoring in the 2nd, 35th+1, and 58th minutes.
The onslaught continued with goals from Sparlington Thongni in the 33rd minute, Jeremy Nongkynrih in the 63rd, and Baketlang Thabah in the 70th. Despite a spirited effort, Mawreng SC managed only a solitary goal from Wanshanbok Sohshang in the 23rd minute.
Over at Third Ground, Golflink SC secured a narrow 1-0 victory against Umsohsun SC. The decisive moment came in the 62nd minute when Willborn Langstieh found the back of the net, ensuring Golflink’s triumph in this closely contested Group C encounter.
The action continues on Saturday with a slate of intriguing matchups as, New Challenger SC will take on Mawlyngngad SC at 1:45 PM, First Ground in Group B encounter; Pynthorbah SC will face Them Rangshken ACC at 1:45 PM, Third Ground in Group D encounter; In Group C match, Mawlynrei SC will lock horns with Madan S&CC at 4:00 PM, First Ground and in Group B game, Mawnianglah Youth SC will face Umiew Maw U Sam SC at 4:00 PM, Third Ground
