Songsak BDO lodged a complaint that on July 1, unknown miscreant(s) stole one laptop, one USB Hub, one scanner and one camera, etc.
Fauji Alom Ali lodged a complaint that since July 2 evening, his thirteen-year-old daughter has been missing from their residence at Williamnagar, EGH, along with Rs. 6 lakh in cash, gold ornaments valued around Rs. 1.5 lakh and one mobile phone.

Namrul Ali lodged a complaint that on July 1 around 1.30 am, unknown miscreant(s) stole his Bolero pick-up (ML-08E-7861) from Dilma Soksan, NGH.

Joel Syngkli lodged a complaint that on July 1, unknown miscreant(s) stole his motorcycle (AS-01FP-9942) from Lailad, Ri-Bhoi.


Guddu Prasad of Rilbong, Shillong, lodged a complaint that on July 2 around 5.40 pm, two unidentified scooter-borne masked miscreants waylaid him and looted him of unspecified amount in cash and two bundles of cigarettes.


Kobejuddin Sk of Kandergaon under Rajabala Police Station lodged a complaint that on July 2 around 5.30 pm, one Imran Sk and his three accomplices allegedly threatened his son with dire consequences.


Anita Khatun lodged a complaint that on July 2 circa 4 pm, one Kobej Uddin broke into her residence at Kandargaon under Rajabala Police Station, WGH, and attempted to attack her with a knife.


A resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that one Bini George (a recruiting agent for foreign workers) asked her to pay Rs. 15 lakh with a promise to provide job for her brother in Israel. On January 19, 2024, the complainant paid Rs. 5 lakh via Google Pay and the remaining amount was paid by her parents. However, later the complainant realised that she has been cheated. Further, the accused failed to return the amount before the end of June, 2024, as promised.

A resident of a locality in West Jaiñtia Hills lodged a complaint that on January 6, 2024, on being invited, he joined an online investment company, Zerodha Trading App, via a link sent by one ‘Alice’ and invested Rs. 20 lakh by way of top-up in the aforementioned online application wallet. However, he later realised that he has been cheated.

Two persons from a locality in Shillong jointly lodged a complaint that one Nure Samar Akhtar Menon (36) cheated them of Rs. 5 lakh and Rs. 7 lakh respectively by convincing them to deposit the amount into his account for investing in IIFL Securities.

Unauthorised transaction

A resident of a locality in Shillong lodged a complaint that on July 2, Rs. 25,000 was unauthorisedly debited from his bank account.


On June 24 around 7.45 pm, police detained one suspected drug-peddler, viz. Anil Biswa (24) at Nongsohphoh (Naspatighari), Shillong, and recovered one soap box containing 11.16 grams of suspected heroin from his possession. Police then arrested the accused.
Cattle transportation bid

Eron Marweiñ and Wanlamphrang Kharmalki of Butcher Association of Meghalaya (BAM) lodged a complaint that on Jun 24 around 11 pm, members of BAM detained two trucks (1) AS-01LC-3924 driven by Banlam Lynti Kharwar and (2) NL-01L-8057 driven by Marius Thanus at Sohryngkham, EKH, which were allegedly transporting 66 heads of cattle from Byrnihat RB) to Laitlyngkot village, EKH, without proper documents. Later, the drivers were handed over to police, while the livestock were handed over to AH Veterinary Department.

Theft bid

On Jun 24 circa 11.10 pm, police received information about a dacoity case at Jowai Bypass, NH-6. During enquiry, it transpired that unknown miscreant(s) have attempted to steal the tyres of one stationary truck (ML-05S-4439), had broken down at the place. Later, police detected 3-4 unidentified miscreants while they were attempting to steal the tyres of another stationary truck which was broke down at Jowai Bypass. Police apprehended one of the miscreants, viz. Conference Star Ryngkhlem (21), while others managed to escape.
