JOWAI, July 7: The Rotary Club Jowai (RCJ) on Saturday welcomed its new leadership as well as members at the Installation-cum-Induction Ceremony 2024-25, which saw the swearing in of Rodulf E Laloo as the 29th president of Rotary Club Jowai. The event, held under the theme ‘The Magic of Rotary,’ also saw the induction of two new members — Stanly Roy Mulieh and Ashesh Kumar Singh — along with the installation of the new club team.
The ceremony took place at Orchid Inn Bouget Hall, Thadlaskein, with past district governor Manas Chaudhuri serving as the chief guest.
Chaudhuri presided over the swearing-in of the new president and members, offering words of encouragement and outlining the rules and procedures of Rotary. He elaborated on the theme ‘The Magic of Rotary,’ emphasising its purpose to inspire Rotary Club Jowai members to engage in activities that benefit the community and enhance the global perception of Rotary’s work.
In his inaugural address, president Rodulf E Laloo highlighted the significant contributions of the Rotary Club Jowai to the community. He reiterated the club’s mission to promote community welfare through various initiatives, including health-related activities. Laloo also expressed gratitude to the members of the Rotary Club of Shillong, who were invited to and participated in the ceremony.
