One arrested for EJH murder case

Shillong, July 11: The police on Thursday arrested one person in connection with the alleged murder of the four persons at Umpleng village in East Jaintia Hills (EJH) on July 6.

East Jaintia Hills SP, Giri Prasad M said that they couldn’t disclose the details of the arrested person in the interest of investigation.

“Investigation is ongoing to trace and to arrest the other person(s) involved in the case,” Prasad said.

Earlier, the preliminary investigation by the police revealed that the four deceased are suspected to be drugs users and small-time peddlers.
