73 students with special education needs felicitated

Shillong, July 12: The Meghalaya Progressive Special Educators Union (MPSEU) on Friday organised a felicitation ceremony to felicitate 73 students with special education needs on their successful completion of this year’s SSLC and HSSLC board examinations.

Speaking on the occasion, Social Welfare Minister, Bah Paul Lyngdoh said that he was happy to be part of this programme to felicitate students with special needs who have managed to excel in their board examination despite their limitations.

He further said that the governments through the social welfare and other departments have tried to provide all possible support to the people with disabilities (PWDs).

Lyngdoh also informed that they were looking to increase the number of special educators.

Deputy Director of Directorate of School Education and Literacy, Isabella Sohtun was also present on the occasion.

The ceremony was  jointly organised by the DSEL and Samagra Shiksha Seman Meghalaya.
