SHILLONG, July 13: As part of the Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Cultural Competitions organised by Ramakrishna Mission Shillong, a day-long youth convention was held at the Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre.
The event was participated by around 250 students and teachers from 22 different institutes, including those from remote areas such as Sohra, Shella and Sobhar.
The convention was attended by Swami Bodhmayanada, Adyaksha of Ramakrishna Mission Math and Mission, Hyderabad, Swami Hitakamananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong, and Swami Varananada, Principal of RKM Higher Secondary School, Sohra, who delivered motivational speeches to inspire the students.
One of the highlights of the convention was the participation of ten speakers from the attending institutes, who spoke on various pre-allotted topics.
A group discussion was also conducted, fostering enthusiastic participation from all attendees.
It may be mentioned that the main attraction of the programme was an inspirational talk by CEO of Dexterity Global, Sharad Vivek Sagar, who not only delivered a stirring address but also interacted with the participants, engaging in a Q&A session that covered topics such as concentration and leadership qualities.
In addition to the discussions and speeches, cultural performances were also held.
Students from Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Sohbar and Sohra, performed traditional Khasi songs and dances, while students from Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Shillong, presented the Wangala dance.
