SHILLONG, July 15: Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma met Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, requesting a financial sanction of Rs 1,000 crore for the New Shillong City project. This ambitious initiative aims to redefine Meghalaya’s growth trajectory and alleviate congestion in Shillong.
The project is also expected to boost education and tourism in the Northeast region. In addition to his meeting with the Prime Minister, the Chief Minister also had discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
Further, Chief Minister Sangma met Minister of Food Processing, Chirag Paswan, to discuss expanding the food processing industry sector in Meghalaya. These discussions are part of a broader strategy to enhance economic development and create new opportunities in the state.
