Striker Alan Saji joins FC Goa
FC Goa on Sunday signed a multi-year contract with young Indian striker Alan Saji ahead of the upcoming Indian Super League season.The 18-year-old Saji has appeared for the Reliance Foundation Young Champs (RFYC) academy in numerous national and international tournaments.Saji has also played for RFYC during the Sanix Cup in Japan earlier this year, as the event is generally dubbed Asia’s best youth football tournament.Besides making it to the Sanix Cup Team of the Tournament, he was among the goal-scorers against the U-21 sides of Kerala Blasters and Dempo SC during the Reliance Foundation Development League.
Torino close in on Southampton’s Che Adams
Tornio have reportedly reached an agreement with Scotland international Che Adams, who is currently a free agent after his contract with newly-promoted Premier League side Southampton expired at the end of June. According to multiple reports in Italy, Torino have now reached an agreement on personal terms with the player and his agents, although the exact figures have not yet been specified.Recent reports suggest that the contract could be worth around €1.8m per season, not including bonuses, as well as a €1.5m signing-on bonus.Torino will not have to pay a fee to Southampton, or to any other club, given Adams’s availability on a free transfer.The 28-year-old, who burst onto the scene with Birmingham after joining from Sheffield United in 2016, has 33 caps for Scotland’s senior side, scoring six goals over the past four years.
Man Utd unwilling to sign Amrabat permanently
Manchester United have decided against triggering their option to sign Sofyan Amrabat permanently this summer.Amrabat, 27, signed for the Red Devils in an initial loan deal after impressing for Morocco at the 2022 World Cup, however, he endured an indifferent season in the Premier League. As part of the deal that United negotiated with Fiorentina last summer, the club had the option to sign Amrabat permanently for £21.5million – but it emerged earlier this month that United were unlikely toexercise said option. United have informed both Amrabat and Fiorentina that they will not make an offer for the midfielder, who will now report to pre-season training with the Serie A outfit.
Amadou Onana undergoes Aston Villa medical
Amadou Onana is undergoing his Aston Villa medical on Sunday ahead of a proposed £50m move from Everton.Unai Emery is further strengthening his squad ahead of Aston Villa’s Champions League campaign and agreeing personal terms with Onana is not expected to be a problem. Onana has made 72 appearances for Everton, including 37 last season in all competitions after joining from Lille for £30m in 2022. Onana played for Belgium at Euro 2024 this summer as his nation was knocked out by France in the last 16.Villa have already brought in two central midfielders this summer with the additions of Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus and Ross Barkley from Luton Town. Villa have fought off tentative competition from Newcastle United and Manchester United to land the 6ft 5in midfielder. The Magpies targeted Onana earlier this year as a potential long-term replacement for Joelinton when the Brazilian’s future at St James’ Park was uncertain due to his contract situation.
