NONGPOH, July 22: The Deputy Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KHADC, Pynshngain N Syiem, on Monday, conducted an inspection at the Council’s office in Nongpoh. The inspection aims to strengthen the Council’s operations and improve services to the public.
Speaking to the media, Syiem explained that the inspection focused on expanding the functioning of the Council’s judiciary across each district. He mentioned that there are currently around 300 cases pending in this area, highlighting the need for more staff, including Lower Division Assistants (LDA), Computer Assistants, and others.
He also noted that following the central government’s recent amendments, transforming the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC) to the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) and the Indian Penal Code (IPC) to the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), there has been some confusion. He assured that the Council would adhere to these new laws implemented by the Centre.
Regarding the Council’s Forest department, Pynshngain said that there are buildings requiring removal. This issue will be brought to the notice of the Council’s appropriate committee. Additionally, plans are in place to enhance the existing office infrastructure and its surrounding areas in Nongpoh.
