Police remove tinted films from 109 vehicles in fresh crackdown

SHILLONG, July 24: In a fresh crackdown, police have removed tinted films and compounded as many as 109 vehicles in East Khasi Hills district.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Sylvester Nongtnger, while reminding that as per the Motor Vehicles Act and in compliance with the Supreme Court order, the use of tinted films on vehicles is prohibited, and that violators would be penalised.
“In this regard, East Khasi Hills District Police is committed to ensuring road safety and preventing crimes,” he said, urging vehicle owners to comply with the regulations and remove tinted films from vehicles to avoid penalties.
