Assault
On July 23, around 11.30 pm, residents of Kasaripara village in West Garo Hills verbally informed the police about an incident in the village. During inquiry, it transpired that around 11 pm, one Ashraful Islam (33) onboard a pick-up vehicle (ML-08J-9104) assaulted one Mominur Islam (24) at Kasaripara village and fled away. As a result, the victim sustained injuries and was shifted to Civil Hospital Hatsingimari, Assam, from where he was referred to GMCH Guwahati, Assam. Later, Ashraful Islam along with his vehicle surrendered before police.

Bike stolen

Theft
Hamebanjop Lyngkhoi lodged a complaint that on the intervening night of July 22 and 23, miscreant(s) stole a DG battery valued around Rs 22,000 and diesel valued around Rs 13,000 from a tower at Mawngap in East Khasi Hills.
State Informatics Officer/Head Officer, National Informatics Centre, Shillong lodged a complaint that on July 19 afternoon, miscreant(s) stole several RAMs (Random Access Memory) from desktop computers at NIC Office, Shillong.
Pravakar Hajong lodged a complaint that on July 22, around 9 am, security guard of Zakabari Higher Secondary School in West Garo Hills found that two solar batteries valued around Rs 36,000 were missing from the school building.
