SHILLONG, Aug 4: Two years since laying the foundation stone for as many as 11 schemes in Mawkyrwat under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) and Rural Infrastructure Development Fund as the then PHE Minister, Renikton L Tongkhar, former minister, revealed that more than 65% of work on the Greater Mawkyrwat Water Supply Scheme has been completed.
“I inspected the Greater Mawkyrwat Water Supply Scheme covering eight villages and the work is going on smoothly. Overall, 65 per cent of work is completed and I hope they will complete it well within this year,” Tongkhar, who had earlier carried out an inspection, said.
He, however, said there were a few hurdles, which have been overcome. “…now the work is going on in full swing in all the villages,” he added.
Tongkhar had laid the base for the schemes in October, 2022.
