JOWAI, Aug 10: The worsening condition of National Highway-6 in the Narpuh area of East Jaintia Hills district has become a significant problem for commuters, affecting not only local villagers but also travellers from other states.
The dilapidated road has severely disrupted travel, with passengers reporting that journeys to destinations such as Khliehriat, Jowai, Shillong, and beyond now take several hours or even a full day due to road blockages.
This, according to the people, has caused considerable hardship, particularly in cases of medical emergencies, as the delays on the road make timely travel nearly impossible.
