SHILLONG, Aug 12: A local court on Monday remanded the five persons – who were arrested on charges of hurling a petrol bomb at the bust of JN Bawri near Bawri Mansion in Dhankheti on Sunday – to five days’ judicial custody.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police Sylvester Nongtnger said no further arrest has been made in connection with the arson case.
He refused to divulge any details, saying the matter was being investigated.
“We can share the motive behind the petrol bomb attack once we are through with the investigation,” the police official said.
