SSA Second Division to kick off on September 2 with 13 teams

Shillong, Aug 14: The Shillong Sports Association (SSA) is all set to commence its Second Division 2024 on September 2, with 13 teams competing in two groups. The SSA released the initial nine fixtures for each group yesterday. All matches will be held at the SSA Stadium, located at First Ground in Polo
Group A features six teams: Meghalaya Police, Sohiong SC, Umphrup SC, Smit SC, Laitkyrhong SC, and Imson SC. Group B comprises seven teams: Pay For Right Football Academy, Mylliem Lum SC, Jongksha SC, Nongkrem SC, Marbisu SC, Laitlyngkot SC, and Lumshyiap SC.
The top two teams from each group will advance to the semifinals. The finalists will earn promotion to the First Division for the 2025 season, while the teams finishing at the bottom of each group will be relegated to the Third Division in 2025.
Last season, Pay For Right Football Academy claimed the Third Division title, with Mylliem Lum finishing as runners-up. Meghalaya Police, who were also losing semifinalists, earned promotion.
