Two state officers appointed to IAS

SHILLONG, Aug 17: In what may be dubbed as a significant achievement, Tangseng G Momin and Anita Kharpor, both members of the Meghalaya State Civil Service, have been selected for the Indian Administrative Services (IAS) against vacancies determined by the central government, reflecting the officers’ dedication and service in the state civil service.
The appointments were made in consultation with the state government under Regulation 5(1) of the IAS (Appointment by Promotion) Regulations, 1955, for the Select List of 2023.
Both officers will be on probation until further orders.
Momin and Kharpor have been allocated to the Joint Assam-Meghalaya Cadre, in accordance with Rule 5(1) of the Indian Administrative Service (Cadre) Rules, 1954.
