Teacher suspended for pulling girl’s hair, kicking her
BALLIA, (UP) Aug 18: A teacher of a government school here was suspended on Sunday for allegedly pulling a Class 5 student’s hair and kicking her, officials said.The incident reportedly took place a few days ago at a Bisouli-based primary school. An official said a complaint was received against Ajit Yadav and it was alleged that he pulled a girl by her braid and kicked her. An investigation was conducted and students of the girl’s class told officials that Yadav had pulled the girl’s hair and kicked her. The victim also spoke to officials conducting the probe and told them about the incident.Yadav has been suspended. (PTI)
10 killed, 27 injured as pickup van collides with bus
BULANDSHAHR (UP), Aug 18:Ten people were killed and 27 injured when a pickup van collided head-on with a private bus in the Salempur area here on Sunday, officials said.The accident occurred on the Budaun-Meerut state highway.According to locals, the pickup van was coming from Ghaziabad when it collided with the bus.Nine of the injured are undergoing treatment at a private hospital.The condition of four of the injured was serious. The remaining injured have been admitted to the district hospital said an official. (PTI)
Man held for raping woman, cheating her of Rs 12 lakh
THANE, Aug 18: A man was arrested in Kalyan in Thane district for allegedly raping a woman and cheating her of Rs 12 lakh, a police official said on Sunday.Iqbal Iftekar Shaikh (32) was arrested on Saturday, police said.“The accused is a salesman. He took Rs 12 lakh from the 29-year-old victim claiming he would get a donor for her husband’s kidney transplant procedure. He also raped the woman several times,” the police said. (PTI)
Half-burnt bodies of man, woman tied in chains found
CHHATARPUR, (MP) Aug 18: The partially burnt bodies of a man and a woman tied in chains were found in MP’s Chhatarpur district on Sunday, police said.The bodies were found in the Siddhan Ki Pahadi area of Lavkush Nagar.Police said that after the discovery of the half-burnt bodies of a man and a woman, both aged around 30, cops reached the spot to examine the scene.The two have been identified as Abhilasha Upadhyay and Chhotu Misha.Abhilasha had been missing since Saturday and her family lodged a police complaint.Eyewitnesses said the bodies were tied in chains with a lock.
