Man rapes 10-year-old neighbour
THANE, Aug 25: A man was on Sunday arrested for allegedly raping his 10-year-old neighbour in Kalyan town of Thane district, police said.The 32-year-old accused has been booked on the charges of assault and rape. The assault took place on Saturday afternoon when the child went to the accused’s house to play with his children.The accused was alone in the house at the time, and he allegedly touched her inappropriately and raped her.The girl returned home and informed her parents, following which they approached the police, an official said. Two booked for forcing woman into prostitution
THANE, Aug 25: Two persons were booked for pushing a 20-year-old woman into the flesh trade in Jabalpur in MP, a Thane police official said on Sunday.As per the complainant, she had gone to the house of one of the accused in Diva here on April 17 and the latter told her about a good job opportunity in Jabalpur, the police said. In Jabalpur, the accused handed over the victim to another woman for a consideration of Rs 5000 and left. The second accused forced the victim into a sex racket. She was also beaten up when she refused. (PTI)
Businessman duped by woman he met on dating app
MUMBAI, Aug 25: A 53-year-old businessman from Navi Mumbai was allegedly cheated of Rs 33.3 lakh by a woman who befriended him on an online dating application.Based on a complaint by the businessman, a case was registered at the Cyber police station on Friday. The complainant has alleged that a woman who identified herself as Pragati Dahiya contacted him on a dating app, and they met and communicated on WhatsApp. The accused lured him into giving her Rs33.3 lakh whenever they met in five months, he said.The accused failed to return the money, following which the complainant approached the police adding that a probe is underway. 11 picnickers rescued from river island
GUNA, (MP) Aug 25: Eleven picnickers trapped in a swollen river in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna district were rescued on Sunday afternoon by the SDRF after a two-hour operation, an official said.They were stuck on a stone mound where the water level of the Ghoda Pachad river rose suddenly, an official said. All members of the group are residents of Bapcha Lahariya village. (PTI)
