Malki rape case: Second accused in police remand

SHILLONG, Sep 2: A local court on Monday remanded Kitbok Reuben Mawthoh, the second accused in the Malki rape case to 14 days’ police custody.
Police arrested Mawthoh, who was on the run since Saturday night, from Smit area early Monday morning.
Police had earlier arrested Andy Malngiang (19) in connection with the same case.
Malngiang was remanded to 14 days in judicial custody and was charged under Sections 351(3) and 70(1) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) of 2023.
